Privacy Policy

Effective date: 27 August 2026

Puzzle Rivals is a competitive multiplayer puzzle game made by Ivan Sesum, an independent developer ("we", "us"). This policy explains, in plain language, what data the game handles and why. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run an online game, we don't show ads, and we never sell your data.

1. Data we collect

DataWhat & why
Anonymous accountWhen you first play, a random account ID is created automatically so your progress, coins and cosmetics persist. No name, email or password is required to play.
Display name (optional)A name you choose yourself, shown to other players in matches and on leaderboards. You can change it any time from your Profile.
Email address (optional)Only if you choose to link your account (for recovery across devices). Used solely for sign-in codes.
Gameplay dataMatches played, scores, daily challenge runs, streaks, in-game coins and cosmetics, friend connections, referral codes — the state of the game itself.
Usage analyticsApp events (screens visited, matches started/finished and similar), a pseudonymous identifier, device platform and app version, and approximate (city-level) location derived from your IP address. Used to understand what works and fix what doesn't.
Crash reportsTechnical error details (error message, app version, device platform) when the app malfunctions, so we can fix bugs.
Push token (optional)Only if you enable notifications — used to deliver them (e.g. a friend inviting you to a match).

2. Data we do NOT collect

3. Services we rely on

The game runs on a small set of infrastructure providers, each processing data on our behalf:

4. Retention

5. Deleting your account and data

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time — see Delete Account. Requests are honoured within 30 days.

6. Other players

Your display name, avatar, and match/leaderboard results are visible to other players — that is the game. If you never choose a display name, your results are not listed on public leaderboards. If you encounter an offensive player name, email us at [email protected] or use the in-app feedback form and we will act on it.

7. Children

Puzzle Rivals is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13; if you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit. Game results are computed and validated on our servers, and database access is restricted by row-level security policies.

9. Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page and its effective date.
